Pioglitazone

Actos contains pioglitazone. This is an anti-diabetic medication. This medication helps to control the level of sugar in the blood of those who have type 2 diabetes by helping the body to make better use of the insulin it produces.

Actos should always be used as it has been prescribed to you by your healthcare provider. Usually, this medication will be prescribed to be used once a day.

You should only ever use the dosage of medication that you have been told to use by your healthcare provider. The usual starting dosage of Actos is one tablet taken once a day of either 15mg or 30mg strength. Your dosage may be altered depending on the advice of your doctor.

Actos is a suitable medication for adults over the age of 18 years old who are suffering from type 2 diabetes. It is an especially effective medication for those who are unable to use Metformin.

  • Localised swelling
  • Broken bones (particularly in female patients)
