More Information

Germoloids Suppositories is a combination medication used for the treatment of haemorrhoids. Also known as piles, haemorrhoids can cause pain, swelling and irritation of the anus, especially after a bowel movement. They can be either internal (inside the anus) or external (outside the anus).

Germoloids Suppositories contains two active ingredients; zinc oxide and lidocaine. Zinc oxide has the ability to cause contractions when applied to the skin, so it helps to shrink the haemorrhoids and reduce swelling. Lidocaine on the other hand, is a local anaesthetic which helps to numb sensation around the anus and reduce the feeling of pain or discomfort.

Haemorrhoids can cause the sufferer a lot of pain and discomfort and can make it an ordeal to go to the toilet. Treating them easily and quickly with Germoloids Suppositories can get you feeling back to normal quicker, by numbing any pain or irritation and soothing the area around the anus.

Always wash your hands before and after using this product and ensure you have taken the time to read the patient information leaflet so that you understand how to use it properly.

Germoloids Suppositories are only for use inside the anus. If you have external haemorrhoids then you may want to consider a cream or ointment as a more suitable line of treatment.

To begin, gently clean and dry the area around the anus and then tear down on the perforation to remove one suppository from the strip. Peel apart the blister pack to remove and then insert the suppository into the anus with the round end first.

Insert one suppository into the anus before you go to bed and then another one in the morning when you wake up, ideally after a bowel movement. If you need to, they may also be used in the daytime but you should leave a minimum of 3 to 4 hours between suppositories and do not use more than 4 in a 24 hour period.

You should not use Germoloids Suppositories if you are allergic to any of the ingredients, particularly zinc oxide or lidocaine. Before using this medication, you should see your doctor if you are continually suffering from haemorrhoids or they are very severe. You should also discuss the use with a doctor first if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

These suppositories are for use inside the anus only. You should not put the suppositories in your mouth or swallow any; if any are accidentally swallowed by you or anyone else then you should go to the nearest emergency department and make sure to take the packaging and the patient information leaflet with you.

This product is not recommended for use in children younger than 12 years old. If they are showing symptoms of haemorrhoids then you should see a doctor for advice on treatment options.

Constipation or strained bowel movements can make haemorrhoids worse and make them more painful. Try and avoid this by staying hydrated, drinking plenty of fluids and taking in enough fibre as part of a balanced diet.

Like all medicines, this product can cause side effects. If you do notice any pain or irritation from using the product or have any unexpected side effects then discontinue use and contact a doctor.

You can safely buy Germoloids Suppositories at UK Meds, without the need for a prescription or consultation with a medical professional, however you should adhere to the advice given in the patient leaflet enclosed.
